George Sinner Vows to Advocate for Law Enforcement Needs

Dem-NPL nominee for U.S. House, State Senator George Sinner, vowed to make safety and security in North Dakota a top priority in the United States House. Sinner also met with law enforcement officials in Minot Monday afternoon to hear from those on the ground with firsthand experience.

"The safety and security of our citizens is one of the most important jobs we have as legislators. Our law enforcement officials have done a great job with the limited rescources available, but they've become overwhelmed -- they need funding, training, personnel. The state and federal governments have to work together on this issue. We need more permanent law enforcement at both state and federal levels. That's why, as Congressman, I would push for permanent offices for both the FBI and DEA in the oil patch. We also need more special prosecutors who are equipped to deal with horrible crimes like drug and human trafficking, and who can also focus on the reduction and elimination of these crimes that put our state and country's citizens at risk," Sinner said.

"Senators Heitkamp and Hoeven are aggressively working to help law enforcement receive the support they need. The same certainly cannot be said for our lone Congressman, who has done little more than point fingers while taking credit for others' initiatives and legislation. This issue is too important for a Congressman who only seems to care when there's a spotlight, or he's trying to cover up some other infraction. Our Senators deserve a real ally, someone who will work across the aisle and help advocate for the safety and security of the people of North Dakota."
